Anticipation of a visit to the West Coast of New Zealand 2009

SOUTH ISLAND

I Hope to see the southern cross,
In the land of the long white cloud.
A place of beautiful ferns and moss.
Where folks are friendly and proud.

I hope to see a southern twilight,
And tall mountains iced with snow.
A lovely lake, maybe moonlight.
A Forrest where Kauri trees grow.

I hope to see ancient glaciers, in there might.
Drive around roads, with hairpin bends.
Wondrous scenery, eyes open in fright.
Never mind, I’ll be with my friend.

I hope to walk the Woods Creek Track,
.Shanty Town, where visitors flock.
Up Coast road to see the stack,
Of the fantastic Pancake Rocks.

I hope to be near rivers and sea,
In an historic place I’ll stay.
With Roger who’ll look after me.
In the land that takes my breath away.
